Last night was a milestone for me launching my Non Profit Director network in Sydney. The idea is to meet on a regular basis with a view to sharing ideas, and learn from each other.
In my view the non profit and for purpose sector plays a vital role in the collective good across the globe. Those people who work and volunteer in the sector see first hand the challenges and benefits a purpose focused organisation can bring to society and the planet.
I know from experience how difficult it can be linking up with like minded people who are passionate about giving back to the community and have taken on a role as Non Profit Chair or Director.
This group is all about making the most of your role as Non Profit Chair or Director and creating a supportive network to help you lead for purpose. It's about learning new skills, gaining insights and learning from others in a safe environment then this is the group for you.
The purpose is to
provide a view of board leadership that is consistent with skills required for effective directors
encourage big picture thinking on issues or opportunities that may be relevant to the non profit sector e.g. technology, culture, emerging practice
promote discussion and exploration of ideas
promote professional networks that can explore and capitalise on synergies
I want you to think about this group as your sounding board to gain confidence in your role as director and share your experiences with others.
